Donation or Tip For WooCommerce

Description

Donation or Tip For WooCommerce is a free WordPress plugin that adds a fully configurable donation or tip widget to your WooCommerce cart and checkout pages. Let customers voluntarily contribute an extra amount to your store — whether as a charitable donation, a tip for your team, a carbon-offset contribution, or any other cause — without leaving the checkout flow.

The entire widget is managed from a clean, modern React-powered settings panel inside your WooCommerce admin. No shortcodes, no page builder blocks, no code editing. Enable, position, style, and manage donations entirely from one dedicated settings page, with a live donation report showing every order that included a contribution.

Requires WooCommerce to be installed and activated.

Why Use Donation or Tip For WooCommerce?

WooCommerce has no built-in way to collect voluntary extra payments from customers at checkout. This plugin adds that capability in the most flexible way possible — with two distinct donation modes, fixed and percentage amount support, a fully styled widget, multiple placement positions on both cart and checkout pages, and a built-in reporting dashboard, all for free.

Whether you run a nonprofit store, want to collect tips for your fulfillment team, offer a “round up for charity” option, or simply want to give customers a way to show appreciation, this plugin handles every use case without modifying your theme or requiring developer work.

FAQ

Does this plugin require WooCommerce?

Yes. WooCommerce must be installed and activated. The donation amount is added as a WooCommerce cart fee, so the plugin depends entirely on the WooCommerce cart and checkout system.

Does the donation appear as a line item in the order?

Yes. The donation or tip is added as a fee line item on the WooCommerce cart and order summary. It is also stored as order meta (donation_price) on the completed order for reporting and integration purposes.

Can I choose where the donation widget appears on the page?

Yes. You can independently control the position on the cart page (before cart, in collaterals, after cart) and on the checkout page (before form, after order review, after billing form, after checkout form) from the General settings tab.

Can I show the widget on both cart and checkout, or only one?

Yes. The cart page and checkout page display are controlled by separate toggles, so you can show the widget on one or both pages independently.

What are the two donation types?

The first type — Predefined Values — shows customers a set of fixed buttons or a dropdown with pre-set amounts (fixed or percentage of cart subtotal). The second type — Free Text Input — shows a number input where customers can type any amount, choosing between fixed or percentage at the time of entry. You can only use one type at a time.

Can I offer both a predefined list and a custom amount option?

Yes. When using predefined values, you can enable an “Other” option button that reveals a free-text input field alongside the preset buttons, giving customers the flexibility of both.

Does the plugin work with the WooCommerce Cart Block and Checkout Block?

Yes. The plugin is fully compatible with the WooCommerce blocks-based cart and checkout in addition to the classic shortcode-based pages.

Where do I view the donations customers have made?

Go to WooCommerce > Donation or Tip and click the Donation Report tab. You will see a searchable, sortable, paginated table of all orders containing a donation or tip, with the customer name, amount, date, and a direct link to each order.

Can customers remove a donation they have already added?

Yes. You can enable a “Remove donation” button from the General settings tab. When visible, customers can click it at any time before completing checkout to remove their donation from the cart total.

What are the Pro version features?

The Pro version unlocks the ability to customize all text labels shown to customers — the widget title, the “Other” button text, the add-donation button text, the remove-donation button text, the donation amount label in the order summary, and the success alert message. These are essential for multilingual sites or stores that want custom branding. Upgrade here

Is the donation amount included in WooCommerce order emails?

Yes. Because the donation is added as a WooCommerce fee, it appears as a line item in all standard WooCommerce order confirmation and admin notification emails automatically.

Where can I report a bug or request a feature?

Please use the plugin support forum on WordPress.org to report bugs or submit feature requests.

I am doing a website for a non-profit for minimal cost. Everything I found out there for a donate button was complicated for a beginner, or too expensive to buy a annual renewal version. This is free or $20 for one time paid, which is a good deal, especially for a non-profit.I did have a small issue. They responded instantly and remedied my issue (on my end).

I was trying to find an easy plugin to implement donations into WooCommerce. Found this plugin and it was affordable. Had a few formatting issues after it was installed and contact the creator for help. Was contacted in less than an hour and it was fixed soon after that! So thankful for the help! Good job!
