Right Click Disable OR Ban

Description

Right Click Ban helps website owners protect their content from unauthorized copying. Whether you run a photography website, blog, or any content-driven site, this tool gives you control over how visitors interact with your pages.

When someone tries to right-click on your website, this tool blocks the context menu from appearing. You can also show a custom message letting visitors know that copying is not allowed.

What Can You Protect?

  • Right Click Menu – Block the context menu for visitors, admins, or both

How It Works

After activation, head to the Right Click Ban menu in your dashboard. You will find eight simple toggle options:

  1. Disable right click for visitors
  2. Disable right click for admin
  3. Show or hide alert message
  4. Customize your alert message text
  5. Prevent text selection
  6. Stop image Saving

Each option works independently. You can enable just one feature or combine them based on your needs.

Who Should Use This?

  • Photographers who want to protect their images
  • Bloggers protecting original articles
  • Artists showcasing portfolios
  • Business owners with proprietary content
  • Anyone who wants basic content protection

Browser Support

This tool works on all major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, and Opera. Special care has been taken to ensure Safari compatibility.

FAQ

How do I protect my site from right clicking?

Go to Settings, set “Disable Right Click For Visitors” to Yes, and save. Visitors will no longer see the context menu when they right click.

Can I still right click as an admin?

Yes. Keep “Disable Right Click For Admin” set to No. You will have full access while visitors are blocked.

Will this show a message when someone tries to right click?

You can choose. Enable “Show Alert Message” and write your own custom text. Or disable it for silent blocking.

Does blocking keyboard shortcuts affect my site editing?

No. Keyboard blocking only affects the frontend for visitors. Your admin area remains fully functional.

Can I enable only text selection blocking?

Absolutely. Each protection feature works on its own. You can enable text selection blocking without enabling right click blocking.

Will this slow down my website?

No. The code is lightweight and loads only on pages where protection is active. There are no external dependencies.

Does this work on mobile phones?

Yes. Long-press context menus are blocked on mobile devices too.

Is Safari browser supported?

Yes. The tool has been tested and optimized for Safari on both Mac and iOS.

Can I protect only specific pages?

Currently, protection applies to your entire site. Page-specific rules may be added in a future update.

Will this completely prevent content theft?

No tool can guarantee complete protection. Determined users can find workarounds. This tool adds a layer of protection that stops casual copying.

Does this affect SEO?

No. Search engine bots can still crawl and index your content normally.

How do I disable the alert popup?

Go to Settings and set “Show Alert Message” to No. Right clicking will be blocked without any popup.

So the initial set up is a little confusing word wise and I originally set it up to disable right click for admins only ‘:D But I fixed it. It doesn’t seem to work on my homepage very well (even after purging cache) but it’s working on the rest of the site so far. The pop up is kind of annoying when you accidentally right click because you have to close it to continue; I would prefer it to just block right clicks and let people keep scrolling. Someone who is smart will realize right-click is disabled and go on about their day. But I feel better knowing people actually have to put in a little bit of effort to take my images now 😀
